Atlanta Temple Dedication
Good Morning !It’s a very special day in the LDS community here in the Atlanta area! Today the Atlanta Temple will be dedicated.
It has been a very busy month here in Atlanta for the members of our church. People have been working hard to prepare the temple for the open house that was held, the cultural celebration that was last night and the temple dedication going on today. I haven’t played an active role in any of the preparations, so I am deeply grateful to those who put in hours on top of hours of time to pull everything together. It has been interesting watching how it all comes together.
Last night a cultural celebration titled “Southern Lights” was held. It was a huge production involving the youth from around the temple district area. Thousands of youth sang and danced to music from decades past while President Monson and thousands of others watched. Whoever coordinated and directed the performance is extremely talented to be able to pull off such a seamless show with so many people involved, especially on the time constraints they had to rehearse. The performers must be exhausted this morning because they were dancing and singing their little hearts out last night.
Today, I will be attending the noon session of the dedication. I’ve never been to a temple dedication before; I’m very honored and excited to attend the dedication of the Atlanta Temple. Temple. I’ve heard people in our church talking about the other temple dedications they’ve attended years and decades ago and how special they are, so I know this is an experience I will remember forever.
