Quotes from Moanna on Being a Big Sister

Charlotte 009

The following tidbits are Moanna’s thoughts, insights and stresses about Deuce and becoming a big sister.

Steve, “Give the baby a kiss in Mommy’s tummy.”
Moanna, “I am NOT kissing Mommy there. GROSS! The baby’s not there. That’s where Mommy’s food is.”
Me, “Oh, you’re right. How about here?” Pointing to a different spot on my tummy.
Moanna, “Yep! You’re exactly right. That’s where she is.”

“Hello! This is your sister. Hey! Can you hear me?”

While the midwife was searching for the heartbeat…
Moanna, “I don’t think the baby is in there yet. I think she’s still with Jesus in heaven.”
Deuce was moving too fast to get a good heartbeat, so we moved to ultrasound to hear the heartbeat…
Moanna, “Op! She’s in there now.”

Covering my belly up with her blanket.
“The baby is cold. She’s needs to get snuggly cozy.”

Me, ” You know, you’re going to have to teach the baby how to do stuff.”
Moanna, “Like what?”
Me, “All kinds of stuff.”
Moanna, “Like, everything?”
Me, “Yeah.”
Moanna throwing her hands over her eyes, “Ugh! This is going to be exhausting.”

“So when is this baby going to pop out anyway?”
… I really wonder what herĀ visualizationĀ of childbirth is? Does she think it’s like on of those Christmas party poppers? Or like one of those fun Jiffy Pop things that pops open when the popcorn is done?

      She’s positive it’s a girl. Steve is positive it’s a boy. I have no gender vibes what-so-ever.

You may want to prepare her for the possibility of a brother just in case……….( then she’ll really be exhausted right Nee??)

I’ve asked her, “What if it’s a boy?” and she responds, “What if it’s a girl?”… She won’t give it up
