Adams, Steve Adams
Saturday night we attended an awards banquet to celebrate the success of Steve’s past year in CUTCO. For six hours we applauded, ate and took hundreds of pictures.
Year End Banquet is CUTCO’s version of the Oscars. It’s an evening of award after promotion after award after promotion. Somewhere in the middle of all the awards and promotions, dinner is served. Before everyone has a chance to swallow their last bite, the awards and promotions begin again. Before the banquet begins, during the banquet, after the banquet and well into the next morning thousands and thousands of pictures are taken.

Since it was a big night, we got all gussied up. Steve rented a tux and I bought a new dress. I also had my hair done, and for the record, I did not request to look like a helmet head. The picture I gave lady friend looked nothing like this, but I let it roll because we were running super late to the hotel and I didn’t want to stress Steve.

2010 was Steve’s first full year back in CUTCO, and he made the most out of his year. Since it was his first time winning Standard of Excellence (selling over 100k in one year), they put together a presentation of pictures and stories (some of them quite embarrassing) to chronicle Steve’s life and success both inside and outside of CUTCO. In addition to the embarrassment, Standard of Excellence winners also receive a sword or dagger, Waterford wine glasses and an invitation to Standard of Excellence Night. (I will tell you all about Standard of Excellence Night in later posts.)

Not only did he qualify for Standards of Excellence for the first time, but Steve also was the top sells rep in his category! The top sales rep in each category receives a Silver Cup. This puppy is huge and heavy, and since Steve worked so hard and sacrificed so much to win this award it is now the centerpiece of our living room. Steve’s friend Jacob also won a Silver Cup in his category. I don’t have a picture of it, but Jacob set his sweet baby girl in the middle of the cup and she fit perfectly.

Later on in the evening, Steve also received a promotion to be a Career Sales Professional (aka CSP). In 2010 he was a CSP Candidate and based on his performance this year, he was promoted to CSP. Being a CSP comes with a lot of benefits that will make Steve’s job easier and the rewards sweeter. Of course, it also comes with extra responsibilities like giving talks more frequently at conferences and guiding sales reps that are newer in the business to success.

The promotion also comes with this fancy pin.

Many of Steve’s friends were recognized for their sales and management achievements in 2010. I would love to share all of their successes with you, but that would take six hours, as it did at the banquet. Instead, I will say that it was an honor to share such a special evening with the CUTCO family and celebrate everyone’s accomplishments.
