Does Something Look Different Here?

MMaM Screen

I don’t know about you, but to me, something about this place looks different. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I like it. It almost looks like a real site now.

Since the beginning of time, I have wanted to redesign Me, Myself and Mommy. It was in desperate need of color and style. To be perfectly honest, it was in desperate need of a lot of things. However, things like time, money, sanity, fear had been preventing me from taking a deep breath and taking the plunge. I was terrified that we would screw something up, and the site would be down for days and days, or all of my work would disappear. I’m getting palpitations just thinking about it.

I have no idea why, but for some reason last night was the night. We took the plunge and redesigned the site. As Steve was sitting in front of the computer preparing to change things over, I sat beside him and prayed over and over again , “Please let this work. Please let this work.” I was not willing to watch the computer screen as Steve worked, nor was I allowed to look – as if I would want to.

About 15 minutes or so after Steve started pecking away at the keyboard, he started to make really disturbing noises. I started to sweat. About two minutes after that, Steve turned the screen to me and said, “It’s done.” I was expecting the transition to take all night long, and maybe even well into the next day. As usual, my anxiety was for no reason and it took less than 30 minutes to make the switch.

Of course, there were a few glitches we had to work out – nothing major. I still have a lot of massaging to do. I have to go back through every post I’ve ever written and add a “featured picture” and some minor html. I also have some page organizing and clean up to do. In addition to that, I am working with a designer on a logo, and at some point I need to suck it up and write a new about page. If things suddenly look totally whacked-out, it’s because I touched something I had no business touching and Steve isn’t home to rescue my blog from my technological shortcomings.

Bare with me over the next few weeks as I continue to polish up the new design. Please pray that my poor husband makes it through the rest of this transition with his sanity in tact. It takes a lot of patience to put up with my lack of computer skills, and he does an amazing  job fixing everything I break and making everything look exactly the way I want it to.

I hope you all like the new look! There is a lot more excitement to come in the coming weeks and months here at Me, Myself and Mommy. Stay tuned.

I sure hope your new design continues to contain pictures of Moanna. It is a small substitute for not being able to see her often. She’s growing so fast; I want to keep up.

There will absolutely be pictures of Moanna littered all throughout the site! It wouldn’t be the same without her.

I’m quite fond of it myself. I just need to iron out the kinks so my OCD can rest peacefully.
