Snowed In
***Public Service Announcement***
We are finally getting settled back into our home in Atlanta. We’ve been trotting up and down the East Coast over the past few weeks visiting friends and family for the holiday season, and at about 10:00PM on Thursday night we all reunited at home to share our adventures and exchange a few more presents. Since then, we’ve all been hanging around the house recovering from 2010 and gearing up for 2011. I sat down several times to write over the past few weeks on the road, but my eyes would cross and my fingers would go numb. Evidentially we (as in the computer and I) needed a break. Now that the travels are over and we are settled back into our lives (minus the fact that we haven’t unpacked the suitcases), I’m ready to write, write, write.
***Now back to your regularly scheduled programming***
This is what we woke up to this morning.

It’s somewhere between 4 and 5 inches of snow and ice and other wintry crap. Isn’t it lovely? Back in Virginia, everyone would be digging our their cars and seeing if they could get to Wal-Mart or the Truck Stop for no other reason than just to see if they could make it. Here, in the Deep South, only one person from our neighborhood has ventured out, and that’s only because he just moved here from New York with his big 4WD.
Moanna wanted to go out in the snow as soon as she woke up at 7:00AM.

We have been stalling her all morning with pancakes and other excuses like the deadly sleet that is now falling from the sky.

We’ve decided that when we can’t stall her anymore, we’re going to tie her to a tether and send her out the back door with a backpack of supplies to take on the brave world of winter. Until then, we’re going to take this opportunity to do the laundry and finish unpacking.
Prev Post -> Technical Difficulties

I hadn’t seen snow since 1999, so for me it was a welcomed treat. I admit, though, my feet are still cold from playing out in the snow.
“Finish unpacking.” That makes me feel infinitely better about those boxes crowding up our living room area right now, blocking us away from any hope of a warm, toasty fire. We’re about 1.5 to 2 hours from Atlanta and no longer bound by a lease agreement. Any recommendations on cute suburbs around the city? Oh, and I thought of you on my way up here. We drove past the Circ Du Soleil tent when we were en route to our new home.
Welcome to the area!!
Didn’t you want to squeal with child like excitement when you saw that tent?!
Those pancakes are making me hungry!
They were yummy! We did something to the batter and they came out a little funny, but we still horked em down.
A great day for pancakes and snuggling!!!
This stuff isn’t going anywhere until Friday
So when you moved from VA you took all the snow with you?
Unfortunately! The city is still shutdown!!
