Pre Travel Stress

Saturday, Moanna and  I are headed to Virginia for Thanksgiving, leaving Steve and Josh here to fend for themselves for a full week. I think Moanna would have a better chance at surviving home alone than the two of them, but that’s not the point. The point is, I have a crap ton (this is a scientific measurement that is being adopted by the metric system) to do before I can embark on this journey. Not only do I have to get Moanna and I organized and packed, but I also have to prepare the house to be inhabited by boys. This means the fridge and pantry need to be stocked with food they can cook, including some sort of Thanksgiving concoction. Please pray for my kitchen while I’m away. I also need to have the laundry done, the bills paid, the errands complete and the house semi clean. This may sound a little crazy because they are grown men and can take care of themselves, however they are both working nonstop except for Thanksgiving and aren’t’ going to have a lot of time for domestic things. Plus leaving the house semi clean is to give myself a head start when I get home because who knows that the house is going to look like when I get back. Can you imagine? Two boys, Xbox 360, friends, pizza… Scary.

Anywho, I need to get to this long list. My hope, my goal, my dream, is to get all the errands and the bulk of the packing done today so that tomorrow I don’t have to leave the house and can relax. Maybe I’ll even squeeze a nap out of tomorrow… I miss naps… Sigh…

Sorry we won’t see Steve and Josh over Thanksgiving. Just a suggestion for their Thanksgivng Day dinner. Most groceries or restaurants will provide a full meal for two. They can pick it up that day or the day before and reheat. At least it won’t be pizza….again.

This is how I manage things when I’m leaving my men to fend on their own…”when I get home, this place better bear some resemblence to the way I’m leaving it”…
