My Monday
My Monday has not gone as planned. Not at all.
My Monday has made me curious about this…

Does anyone know what kind of tree this is?

Part of me wants to say it’s a dogwood, but I don’t remember dogwoods having berries on it. I am not botanist.
This tree is in my front yard. There are actually two of them, but this one is much more vibrant. It makes me happy.
In Virginia, my guess is that most of the trees are bare by now, and it is starting to get bitter. However, down here in Georgia, the fall is still rich with hues of red, orange and yellow, and many trees are still glowing with green. The colors are much more vibrant than I remembering in Virginia. It is also much warmer. This is the South after all. Most days it’s warm enough after the morning chill wears off to wear short sleeves and fliflops outside.
My Monday could have made me miserable if I allowed it to. Instead, I decided to appreciate the mysterious tree in my front yard and the beautifully warm fall Georgia brings.

Yes, dogwoods get berries. This could very well be a dogwood from the picture and the amount I see. Their leaves get red too. You may be blessed with cedar waxwings which come in droves to eat the berries. They are spectacular birds (ie the painting I did) and always visit in groups eating berries. Look for them.
Interesting
Here in Virginia, the leaves on many trees are still hanging on. They are mostly brownish with some orange and yellow. This has been a slow, drab autumn. Acouple of hard rainy days with wind is all that’s needed. Once the trees are bare I love to see them in black sillouette against a sunset sky. If there happens to be a bright crescent moon in the picture with a star or two then it’s perfect!!!
It’s been rainy the past two days and really windy today… I’m sure this will push fall along
Not sure what it is, but it certainly looks lovely!
